  • My library helped establish my child’s love of reading with their summer reading programs and it lets me borrow books to read on my commute that I would otherwise not be able to get. I’ve been able to do research at the library and play games with my kids. We’ve met other families there as a space to get to know each other. It provided seeds for my garden and news about local events. My library provides a valuable community to us and is essential for us all.

  • As an older person with a low income and lots of family responsibilities, I rely on being able to download my books on my phone. This saves me lots of time and money. Reading is the only hobby I can do anytime, anywhere, and it relieves a lot of stress for me.

  • Knowledge is POWER. We cannot let our government reduce resources that allow Americans to continuously learn and grow at all ages of life. Libraries across Massachusetts and across the country have provided a welcoming space for everyone. My family has greatly benefited from libraries and continues to use libraries on a weekly basis for book clubs, printing, museum passes, team meetings, and exploring new genres of literature we otherwise wouldn't have tried. We love libraries, we NEED libraries.

  • Salem public library has helped me fall in love with reading again. With access to seemingly endless hours of reading material, as well as music, movies, tickets to zoos and museums, and a warm welcoming community space. But since I use a wheelchair, for me to be able to access my library they need the funds to maintain and improve their equipment like the elevator and lift. To create a safe space for everyone to enjoy and learn in there needs to be the funding backing it. Libraries may be taken for granted but they are a very important space for community growth.

  • Of course, I love the many fiction and nonfiction books I get to read. But, just as much, I love seeing all the public notices, book clubs, events, and support services I can access through the library. This library brings the community together. It's a place for residents to go to get local help and information. The librarians are so knowledgeable and help with everything. The world would be a smaller, lonelier, and scarier place without the Attleboro Public Library.
