  • The library was my solace as a child, a place to escape, study, safe to hang with friends and explore. As an adult, I have used it when my printer won't cooperate, as a source of valuable information, to research the history of my ancestry, to rent tools or other items when in need or to gather tickets for adventures. My step children have library cards and have started their own journey within the walls of books. We will occasionally grab a movie or just hang out there for an hour. Libraries are such an unbelievable resource. They should be protected and people should be made aware of ALL that they have to offer.

  • I love the Colrain Griswold Library for many reasons. It is a beautiful quality building, even though it is small. It is the only high quality building left in town. The programs and staff are awesome and they will get whatever books we need. Bill Dornbush is a great tech consultant, he has helped me with my iphone and also learning how to use GoogleDocs. An old person like me needs help to keep up with new technology. I also love how they are a repository of local historical documents like the stories and maps of Catamount Hill! Authors have used these records for writing about the history of the area. Without the library these records would not be accessible. The Staff is very friendly and helpful! The Town needs to continue to help maintain the building by upgrading the electrical service to support new technology.

  • The library was the first place I took my daughter when we moved to town - we didn't know anyone or where anything was. We were welcomed with open arms and wide smiles. We have been part of Story Time, Summer Library Program, author talks, and R.M.S (Rochester Memorial School) collaborations. We use the SAILs network to search out books, borrow local attraction passes and visit the 'Library of Things' looking for something unique to do/learn! Plumb Library (and it's amazing staff) is very much what makes Rochester shine.

  • We live near where VT, NH and MA come together. A few years ago we were looking to move to a different home. We love our local library in Northfield and all that's available to us. We decided that we needed to remain close enough to visit the library regularly and take advantage of all that they have to offer. This includes all that's available locally and all that is available from across the state. We take advantage of online resources like Hoopla and museum passes and enjoy things at the library like puzzle day, etc. The staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful. We feel very fortunate to have such a great library run by such dedicated people.

  • Always helpful with "researching" topics and items. Discovered new museums and parks with their passes. Making copies, printouts. Book suggestions. But mostly--just a happy place to go with terrific, friendly librarians.
  • We have the best small town library. Our staff is amazing and very helpful with anything you need. There are always fun events on the calendar. And my favorite is the Backpacks you can take out for all different kinds of exploring in nature.

  • Libraries are important to communities for many reasons. They provide access to books for everyone, especially those who can't afford them. And, they provide access to new books, classics, digital media, newspapers and all types of media. They offer wonderful programs for children, adults, and teens helping to build relationships so people (especially seniors) aren't isolated. The programs they offer range from crafts, reading clubs, games, tax assistance, nature, and arts (music and art), again, making information, music, art, etc available to everyone in the community.

  • The librarians always help us find just right books for us. Thank you for always helping us find a story about a change or something we need extra help with.
