  • Of course, I love the many fiction and nonfiction books I get to read. But, just as much, I love seeing all the public notices, book clubs, events, and support services I can access through the library. This library brings the community together. It's a place for residents to go to get local help and information. The librarians are so knowledgeable and help with everything. The world would be a smaller, lonelier, and scarier place without the Attleboro Public Library.

  • I read 15 books in 2024 - all through the wonderful app Libby & the library system. Please don’t let Trump take away this wonderful resource. I’m heartsick to think that my grandchildren may not get the opportunity to go to the library & take out books for free. Please don’t slow this to happen!!

  • I started visiting the south Attleboro branch library when my children went to Hill Roberts school and when that closed went to the Attleboro branch. Now that I am wheel chair bound I use my computer to get books online and to order large print books which my daughter picks up for me each week at the library. I read constantly, sometimes 3 books at a time. I don't know what I would do without my library.

  • Attleboro Public Library has given me so much in the years I've lived here. It allowed me to explore books to my heart's content from kindergarten onward. It gave me the volunteer hours I needed to join the National Honors Society and graduate high school. It's even given me a quiet place to finish my final essays at the end of each college semester, away from the distractions at home. The library has always been my place to escape and find some peace and quiet when I've needed it. It allowed me to work on my social anxiety through exposure therapy in high school. The library has been so many things for me over the years and as someone pursuing an English degree, I can't imagine who I'd be without it. I'm really hoping, one day, a book or two I've written will end up on those shelves and someone else will find solace there like I have for so long.

  • I have been a patron of the Attleboro Public Library for over 40 years. I grew up visiting the library mostly to borrow books, but also utilized the genealogical research room and microfilms with my mother when working on our family history. Once I had my own children, I started taking them to APL as well. They each received their own library card, and we have attended a variety of interesting, educational, and entertaining programs at APL over the years. In addition, the APL museum passes have allowed us to explore places at a discounted rate that we might not have been able to visit otherwise. I have recently started volunteering at APL in order to give back to the place that has given so much to me.

  • My son and I started attending a parent-child book club at Attleboro Public Library when he was in elementary school. Each month, we looked forward to reading the chosen book aloud together and discussing it, and he formed several friendships through book club as well. In addition to attending book clubs for five years, he also attended many programs that APL offered, and now, as a high schooler, he has chosen to become an APL teen volunteer.

  • We have been taking our 15 year old son to the Attleboro Public Library since he was an infant. Over the years, we have borrowed books, board games, video games, movies, CDs, hot spots to use on road trips, and even a MOBYpack to explore nature a little more closely. APL also encourages him to continue reading during the summer by providing him the opportunity to participate in a summer reading program. Last year, he approached APL staff about starting a Dungeons & Dragons group for middle and high schoolers, and now he volunteers his time at APL as the Dungeon Master for that age group.
